The “florence pugh black widow” is a character that was first introduced in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Yelena Belova and later became Black Widow. Steinfeld has teased that she will be returning to her role as Belova in the upcoming film, Hawkeye.
Actors Hailee Steinfeld and Florence Pugh will reprise their roles in Marvel’s upcoming second season of “Hawkeye.” The show, which is based on the Marvel comic book series written by Matt Fraction and illustrated by David Aja.
Hailee Steinfeld is keeping Florence Pugh’s participation in Hawkeye under wraps like a wonderful Christmas gift. After a Black Widow post-credits scene saw the shadowy Val (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) set up Clint Barton (Jeremy Renner) as the fall guy for the death of Yelena’s sister-figure, Natasha Romanoff (Scarlett Johansson), who dies saving half of the universe in Avengers: Endgame, the Yelena Belova actor returns to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Yelena and Clint cross paths in Disney+’s Hawkeye when he comes out of retirement to collaborate with teenage archer Kate Bishop (Steinfeld) to thwart an Avengers-level danger and return home in time for Christmas.
“They have a meeting, don’t they? Wow. That seems like a delightful and fascinating experience “When questioned about Kate Bishop meeting Pugh’s Yelena Belova in Hawkeye, Steinfeld was evasive. “Working with this whole group has been just fantastic, it’s been an absolute dream,” Steinfeld remarked of sharing the screen alongside the Black Widow actress.
“We had a moment together when we were filming and something went wrong,” Steinfeld previously told Cosmopolitan of her and Pugh’s “great time together” on the set of Hawkeye. There was no way to get out of it. I began laughing so hard that people assumed I was weeping… and all I remember is a swarm of people pouring in and asking, ‘Is everyone okay?’
She said, “And I’m actually facedown on the ground, just uncontrollably laughing.” “We were in a situation that was in no way, shape, or form intended to be amusing. We really had a fantastic time together.”
Clint’s Christmas will be everything but festive, according to series co-director Rhys Thomas, who teases that Hawkeye’s first encounter with the new Black Widow would be anything but happy.
“I can’t answer to that,” Thomas said of paying off the Black Widow post-credits stinger in Hawkeye with Clint vs. Yelena. “But, certainly, we are aware of their history, as well as what occurred in Endgame. Clint is coping with the consequences of it in the first two episodes. But I can’t say how they’ll meet; I’ll simply pretend I don’t know. Assume it’s a pleasant encounter in which they converse over coffee and sort things out.”
Hawkeye is an original new series from Marvel Studios set in post-blip New York City, where former Avenger Clint Barton nicknamed Hawkeye has a seemingly straightforward mission: return back to his family for the holidays. Hawkeye unwillingly links up with Kate Bishop, a 22-year-old superb archer and his greatest admirer, to uncover a criminal plot when a danger from his past appears.
The two-episode series debut of Marvel’s Hawkeye, starring Jeremy Renner, Hailee Steinfeld, Vera Farmiga, Fra Fee, Tony Dalton, Zahn McClarnon, Brian d’Arcy James, and newcomer Alaqua Cox as Maya Lopez, will air on November 24.
