The ICC World T20 is one of the most popular cricket events in the world, with millions of fans tuning into to watch their favorite team play. This year’s tournament has been a success for many teams, but not all have had an easy ride. Scotland and Bangladesh are the latest two teams to progress from Group A after winning their respective matches against Afghanistan and Zimbabwe respectively.
The T20 World Cup Super 12 is the next round of the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualification tournament. Scotland and Bangladesh have won their respective games to reach this stage.

With an eight-wicket victory against Oman, Scotland qualified for the main draw of the T20 World Cup for the first time.
In Al Amarat, they chased down 123 with three overs to spare to win their third game in a row and advance to the next round.
Before Kyle Coetzer hit 41 and Richie Berrington made 31 not out off 21 balls at Al Amarat, Josh Davey took 3-25.
Bangladesh has already qualified for the Super 12s by defeating Papua New Guinea by 84 runs.
Scotland’s win was sealed when Berrington blasted a six into the stands, sparking jubilation in the dugout and among the tiny group of traveling supporters.
In Group 2 of the Super 12s, Scotland will face India, New Zealand, Pakistan, and Afghanistan.
“What an incredible day for Scottish cricket. The guys are giddy with excitement “Davey, the match’s player of the match, said.
“Within the side, there is a belief. We’re a really powerful team that covers a lot of ground. We really believe we can create some havoc – and we have already done so.
“Momentum is important in T20, and maybe we can carry it into the next phase.”
“There’s no need to be afraid of any games in that group,” Captain Coetzer stated.
“This is going to be a difficult and exciting bunch, but we go into every game full of optimism and confidence that we can win.”
Scotland’s Richie Berrington struck the game-winning run against Oman.
From squeaking into the World Cup to sweeping the group stage
Scotland, ranked 14th in the world, had just one victory in their previous six international competitions, which came against Hong Kong in the 2016 World T20.
They came within one loss of being knocked out of the qualification event in 2019 and nearly lost out on this tournament entirely.
They finished fourth after losing to Singapore, Namibia, and the Netherlands before winning the fifth-place play-off semi-finals.
They have easily dispatched Test country Bangladesh, PNG, and Oman this week in Oman, registering their best total at a T20 World Cup, and saw Berrington become the first Scotland player to hit a half-century in the event.
Scotland earned an automatic berth in next year’s T20 World Cup in Australia by reaching the Super 12s.
Scotland put up a disciplined effort, reducing the World Cup co-hosts to 13-2 before seamer Davey grabbed three wickets in the last over to send Oman through to the next round.
Coetzer, who had been struggling for form before to the competition, started Scotland’s methodical chase with two fours and three sixes, before Berrington supplied the late pyrotechnics with three massive sixes.
Bangladesh is on the mend.
After being defeated by Scotland on the first day of the competition, Bangladesh bounced back to win their next two games and finish second in their group.
In the Super 12s, they will play England, the reigning champions West Indies, Australia, South Africa, and the winner of Group A, which is expected to be Sri Lanka. On Friday, the last two qualifying places will be determined.
On the same field where Scotland defeated Bangladesh later, Shakib Al Hasan excelled with bat and ball to help Bangladesh demolish PNG.
He scored 46 in Bangladesh’s 181-7 victory, which included skipper Mahmudullah’s 50 off 28 balls.
PNG were reduced to 24-5 and 54-8 before getting dismissed for 97 runs by Shakib.
