Valheim’s Hearth and Home is the first sandbox survival game with a focus on building, crafting, and surviving in an open world. The game has been in development for over two years and is finally ready to be released into early access on Steam.
Valheim’s Hearth and Home update has officially arrived for the early access sandbox. The update includes the new Next system, which allows players to choose what they want to do next in-game.
Valheim’s Hearth & Home update, first promised in June, is now out, and before you ask, the multiplayer survival sandbox game is still in early access, but it’s currently $15.99 on Steam if you’re interested. Hearth & Home has been updated, and it’s a big one for crafters and builders:
“Focusing on improving the critically acclaimed hardcore co-op survival game’s fundamental base construction and survival features, the Hearth & Home update offers players even more tools to build the longhouse of their dreams and cook up a feast worthy for an Aesir. […] While the development team has already disclosed many of the new features in Hearth & Home on Steam and social media, not even Odin has seen some of the new features coming with the update, including something dark and sinister that seems to be spreading over the plains. Players will be able to toast the gods with a plethora of new Darkwood and stone construction components that will be accessible at launch. Valheim’s building system will now offer an expanded selection of pieces to spark players’ imaginations as they build their settlements, whether it’s Darkwood beams and poles with intricate viking embellishments, a new Darkwood roof type and ornaments, or a stone throne for those who rule with an iron fist.” [Emphasis added by us.]
There’s also pet naming, map sharing, new plantable trees, the “obliterator extension,” cooking improvements, new meat and food kinds, food revamp, new gear, and more. While it hasn’t quite achieved those heights since, the studio has nevertheless had over 50K continuous players on Steam in the past month, not far behind blockbuster survival game ARK Survival Evolved – a very positive indication indeed.
